Up To The Silver Oak Tree
Up over the silver oak tree
Who dare to climb?
But by non other than
I a very little boy

I should climb higher and higher
To breath its fresh air
And to face the sunny ray
With the hope that I might see Tibet

When the owl fly in the night
I wonder if it too hopes
To see something
As I do by climbing up over the tree.

I wish I were a student forever
When the sweet alarm sings
At early in the morning
Sound of the alarm awakes me
I wish I were a student forever.

When the nature of beauty wakes up
Students gather at our school hall
And recite the prayers
I wish I were...

Years in, years out I feel depressed
Because I feel all chances are gone
I lost those hay days with laughing
So I wish I were...

Tibetan National Uprising Day
We all assembled for one
We all prayed for some one great
We all shouted for someone cruel
We are united and struggling for one aim.

The painful sound I could hear
From the mount Himalayas
Chained in a cage like a bird
And made a prisoner for now and ever.

Leaving the thoughts of self
Avoiding the sense of humanity
We are determined to die and kill
If it cost for our freedom.

The soul is playing as a game
But his mind is full of plans
The name of nation is spreading
Due to our great sacrifices.

Now 'yes' now
It is now and it is our turn
To march forward
To kill and die for freedom.

You are indispensable for Tibet
Tenzin Gyaltso
You are the only being
Who cares for the world's peace
Who preaches the world peace.

You are indispensable for the world
Not only for the world peace
As you are the one
Who shows the way of Buddha.

As a simple Tibetan monk
I am proud of you
You, being the representative of Tibet
I am glad and happy.
Khampa Kunchok 13

How Do I love you?
How do I love you?
Let me count the ways,
I love you from the depth of my heart
Deep through of mine can we reach?
When you are out of sight
I love you every single minute
With passion and yearning
Most often, I try to correct my weaknesses
Far the end, to win your love
I love you purely, freely, madly with the
Breath, smile, tear, and all my life
Love you insatiately
If god is with me
I shall love you even after death

Monsoon Retreat

When the June withered away early
The July tulips were yet to embark
When the monsoon retreats from northward
The wet season I could imagine at all
And the soothe moistures breeze in torrent
Downpour fall with thunder bolting
The Gentle creek pass in anger
The boat at seashores swift in foxtrot
Over the sinuous tide in jingle
The leaves detaches and the trees tilt
Squirrels Gush down to their homes
While the downpour subsided and blench out firms
Chasm the fog all over the town yards
And charms serenity and mingled gloomy fog
That blows a silent monsoon wind
Deep in the whole night harshly
So gentle, so calm and goes on.

Peace

A time when there is no violence
A time when there is no national boundaries
A time when every weapon is garbage
A time when thee is no fighting.

Peace is the formula to solve the problems
Peace is the calculation to cancel the atom bombs
Peace is the evaporation of anger
Peace is the root system to stabilize the world.

When everyone live as brothers and sisters
When there is great love for each other
When there is friendship with all the living things
When there is non-violence.

Let peace be in our mind
Let peace be in our body
Let peace be in our soul
Let peace be in every movement we make.

Let peace rule us
Let peace follow us
May peace travel all through the world so that
We don’t have to go under world war III.

Teachers are
Amazing, acknowledge them.
Believable, trust them.
Cherishing, respect them.
Divine, honor them.
Energetic, nourish them
. Fallible, embrace them.
Gifts, treasure them.

However, with them
I would thank a lot.
Jolly, enjoy with them.
Kindhearted, learn from them.
Lovable, cherish them.
Magical, fly with them.
Noble, esteem them.
Open minded, share your burden.
Precious, value them.
Questioner, answer them with no hesitation.
Resourceful, serve them.
Spontaneous, enjoy them.
Talented, be aware of them.
Unique, affirm them.
Vulnerable, protect them.
Wonderful, recognize them.
Extra special, celebrate them.
Your responsibility to love them.
Zany, laugh with them.

The knotted words
Clouds heap upon clouds, it darkens,
But love grows fonder in absence.
Gazing far away in the gloom of night.
My heart wanders waiting with the wind.v

The sky is covered with clouds.
Just my heart by the grief of snow
The falling leaves have emotions.
Yet the river not, drifted with the tide.

If the moon has an emotion,
Rain shall not be there
If the still sea has a soul
Sun might have married to.

If I trust in tameness of a wolf,
A horse's health and a whore's oath.
I might have gone out of mind,
Just as what a boy's love is.

I told you the words under my breadth.
Known only between you and men and post.
The air is fitted with perfume of promise,
That wrought this unbreakable chain.

When painful memories waft around.
The lingering smiles lighten the hearts.
Fleeting eyes tell a tale of trust,
And wishes for a Dixir of beauty.

It's you, who drew away the veil of darkness,
Invited me for a refresher gladness.
Of awakening with the glory horizon.
And its beauty fuels the flame of mine.

My best friend

I met a great friend,
Who knew me right away.
It was strange she knows,
Everything before I say.

She listens to my problems,
She listens to my dreams.
We talk about love and life,
I never once felt judged by her.

She knows just how I feel
She seems to accept me,
And all the problems of mine
She never complaints.

When I unburden my sorrow,
She never interrupts me.
She just listens very patiently
I want her to understand.

How much she means to me,
But in my deep heart I know
There's no need to show
For she understands me fully
, My best friend.

To my forever batch mates(X students '05)

Past:
We came from many miles
No one is willing to leave motherland.
And dearest parents and siblings,
But karma struck and made us leave everything

We came to an alien country,
And admitted to a strange school
Weare unknown to each other
And still studying under one roof

As days and years rolled by
We came to know each other well
And became more friendly,
Now this is what our past life is all about.

Present:
Listen, unknown people can become known,
stranger become good friends
Today we exist as friends like
United society of ants.

The time that we have spent together,
Are like garden with full of mosaic flowers
And the work that we have done,
Gives me great impression and pride.

Future:
After the coming exam,
We'll be departing from each other
And get splitting like
Marbles on the floor.

That day will be one of memorable days for us
I can feel that day right now
That is the time, our face will become red
And chinky eyes will become red

coming year might be our last togetherness,
I hope that we'll remain friendly
and supportive to each other
friends, let we study well

Hope we’ll have a bright and successful future life,
Be forever and everlasting friends
A very best of luck for your coming exam

Call for Rangzen

A giant monster harshly howls,
from the horizon of far east
That he yearned to bolt down
Millions of frolicsome lambs.

Sounds of explosion prevails
that stirs millions from sleeping
Sound that seems odd to many,
grieves the heart of the lambs

Nations are yelling in joy,
yet Tibetans are yawning in grief,
As their home of paradise has been seized
by the hand of red Devil

Indians are shrieking with sheer mirth
As their lost has been regained
Tibetans are wailing with total despair
As their call for Rangzen has been a distant cry

As the cuckoo soulfully serenade,
everyone turns to cheer her up
when the snow lion hoarsely uproars,
everyone turns to disgust him

Compatriots!
It's the wake up call for us all
as no nations back up our justice any more,
People no longer soothes our broken heart
cuckoos no longer minstrel with us
46 years from now-
No gallant heroes prepare to die
for the cause of own lost land
No wise child gear up to outwit
the sensible soul of our foes

My fellow Tibetans!
It's my call for Rangzen
to those who are deaf mute about it
It's my call for Rangzen
to those who are blind sight about it
It's my call for Rangzen
to those who are dumb struck about it

I have a dream
I have a dream,
a very marvelous one.
A dream to love you
A dream to hug you

I myself is in confusion,
why do I love you?
why even I hug you?
No answer, but just emotion

Is there any reason to love you?
or am I not able to express it?
surely, there is something,
surely, there is reason for loving and hugging you

who knows? what is it?
only the lord knows
The treasure of my life
The secret code of my life

One vital thing is left
My beloved mom also knows
why I love her very much,
why I am longing to hug her

Dechen Tsomo VII D

My love

As she move her eyelashes,
I steal a single glance to
the luster of her charm
Only to regale me in the back

Slim and bamboo physique
and a silver moon face she owns
Star like eyes and of a deer,
And a lotus mouth she has

With her smooth grace,
She gives me smile dearly
However, she will be always
there in my heart
Paljor VIII P

A Thief With No Crime

Like a beam of light secretly she comes,
Penetrating the transparent window of my heart
And occupies the ways of my visionary dreams,
And steals the titles of my poems and topics of my gossips

She is a thief ! I should say it to myself confidently
Because she is stealing my heart and invading my mind
But she has no crime!! I should criticize it to my confession
Because it is all because of me who lost my heart by myself

How it would be so nice if she knows the direction of my thoughts
And thinks of me as much as I do it for her through the silent nights
But even she doesn’t know my name and if I’m surviving in the world
Surely ! she is having her sound sleep while I’m thinking of about her restlessly

What a big loss? A loss which is caused by myself to my own heart and brain
But my sacrifice has not been in vain, by it I got a lesson-a big lesson
I came to know that love is a big mystery and love is a staunch infatuation
“From now I’m going to have an opaque window-pane for my heart”, says Gakyi.

Boys and Girls
Both are born from a same parent.
But , boys are given more importance than girls.
Is this justice?

Both are same- human beings.
But boys are considered smarter than girls.
Is this law?

Where is equality?
Oh! I forgot. But I am a Tibetan girl.
Having a full right to equality in this peaceful zone.

Pine Tree
Oh! Pine tree,
You are very useful for us
You give us fresh air
You are very tall
Oh! Pine tree,
You give us shelter
Your leaves are like needles
You are evergreen
Oh! Pine tree,
You make the environment clean
You produce oxygen
You provide wood

Chupa
It's Tibetan dress
It's not for fashion
nor it's a new style
We just wish to wear it

Just at the evening we walked,
walked to the class,
passerby looked so surprised
As if a stranger has came

We wore Tibetan dress,
that's why they laughed at us
We also laughed at back and louder,
we had seen their faces,

Their faces turned into red and blue with shame
Ashamed because they laughed at themselves
This is what is going on these days
Our culture and costumes are not from the roots

The passerby looked with a look of astonishment
looked down us, and questioned us,
"why you two wear chupa?
Quick and crisp, we two retorted,
"why don’t you wear chupa?"

A message to my fellow Tibetans
Being a pure Tibetan,
I am worrying about the current
situation of Tibet
Also about the present condition of Tibetans in exile,
Politically, humanly, socially,
And religiously, highly diminished
And declined
If we all are here not with
the peace leader of the world,
His holiness the Dalai Lama,
Our life will be a real sadistic,
Moaning and solitary forever
No place to stay, no foods to eat
And no opportunity to study like now
Imagine, if we really face such things,
How would you do?
To whom it may concern and from where we will get
the properties like getting right now
at free at cost?
This year considering as a year of gratitude,
Dear fellows, change yourself into
A well characterized and behaved person
Try to have a genuine truth and understanding power
And cement your own culture and tradition of Tibet
In deep of your heart forever and ever.

A light in the darkness

My dearest brother,
In my small heart,
There is a bunch of words to tell you
But sadly, I can’t express it to you.
As you are far from me
Though you are physically far from me
But your love and care is always there
Within my deep heart forever
A brother like you is so rare to find
Many years has been gone without your presence
But still your hopes and wishes are always lingering
In my mind, and heart forever
Sonam Dolma VII

When the darkness falls

Cool as winds,
Clear as the sky,
Marvelous the stars are,
And how memorable the night is.

Dear moon, I am staring at you.
Can you see me?
Standing under your light to quench
My thirst for so long.

We are intimate friends since my arrival,
When I take a glimpse on you,
I blink and can experience
Your happiness and face the wrath of night.

I have written a letter,
To my mom far behind of the Himalayan chain,
You have the power to see the whole globe,
I plead you to deliver that to my mom.
And I will be waiting for the reply.
Kunsang Gyaltso(VII D)

Loss of compassion
Slaughtering the innocent animals,
With no thinking that they are the resource,
From where we enjoy our meals.

We put on furry clothes,
We use many daily things,
When feel cold and in use.

Unbearable suffering they have,
Uncontrollable tears they shed.
But because of human greediness,
They are slaughtered mercilessly.

In addition,
We human beings have to love them,
Care them and preserve them forever.
Tsewang Dolkar(XII C)

THAT WORD…..(Translated from Tibetan)
Tsewang R. Mechokpa (TRM)

That word, which sank in my heart,
A thorn struck sharply on my soul.
Nowhere to move, inside my bone they pain.
Someday, somehow if I say; I still fainted, so to
remember it again.
You’ll never believe, I swear.

You never trusted nor did you believed on,
What I mean, what I feel.
That word painted on a rock,
A word flew from the darkness
To cut and to disturb, what I taste
My peace of mind.

Neither I dare to forget
Nor can I bear to keep
Wherever I go,
Wherever I sit,
Whomever I talk to, that word I suffer a lot.
A lot like a sand of thunder,
A painful prickly thorn.

That word, you better not to tell,
To put me again in tears,
Tears of sadness, not of joy.
That word, for its sake,
The reason of why, from this world.
So I’m the first to apart.
And the last to return……….!!!

NO RYTHMIC PACE IN FUTURE:

What is your future plan?
Do you think that of will succeed?

Do you think that those lofty mountains
Will remain forever?
If it is so, why southern hill are not
Same as northern sharp peaks?

Do you think that this gay and beauty of
Flower will not fade away?
If so, why autumn looks dusty?

Do you think that this fair and lovely
Skin will not change its fairness?
If so, why senior citizens don’t have it?

Do you think that woe
will remain forever?
If so why celebration take place in society?

FRIEND:

Life without friend is meaning less,
Like an aim without struggle.
Whatever you may become in future,
You need a friend to share

When you fall in dark ness,
You really need a light.
When you feel too hot,
You truly need a shade.

Who do you think will provide?
I think only your true friend.
Who is really fear to you,
And love you very much forever.

Little quarrel between friend is possible,
But breaking the friendship is too bad.
Breaking too much friendship shows that,
You are hungry for money and snacks.

I CRY FOR YOU:

The loneliness and silence
Lead the sorrow and anxious to me.
It made me to miss you again
And a hard pain appear in my heart.

MOM….

Now I and alone in this vast world
Without you to encourage and guide.
Everything seems to complicated to me ]
I have no way to go forwards.

MOM….
Since I lost your love and care
I an just like a bird in the blue sky
Just to fly wherever I reach
Now I realized I can’t live without you.

My jolly laughter and smile,
Disappeared in the ocean of sorrow.
I miss you and cry for you
Why did you left me so early???

LIKE…. WITH AND WITHOUT YOU:

Oh! My honey, how can I say?
In your absence a single second I can’t stay.
Like a fish without water,
And bee without honey.
Like a toast without butter,
And beggar without money.

Oh! My beauty, how to make you see?
Out of your presence, miserable life can be…
Like ocean without water,
And garden without flowers.
Like shops without shelter
And building without towers.

Oh! My sugar, how let you know?
Being far through darkness, I have to go ….
Like night without light
And day without sun.
Like sea with tide,
And angel with gun.

Oh! You sweet, give my love a taste
Reciprocated , otherwise my life is a waste…
Like sugar without sweetness
And pickle without salt.
Like room with mess,
And leader with fault .

Oh! My mind topic, how to make you believe?
Your is the only love, burdens it relieve….
Like death without pain,
And night with moon.
Like winters without rain,
And lovers met soon….

A PROMISE IN THE SILENT TEARS:

The silence of the fateful night,
Broken by the painful ballad
That my kith and kins were forging
For the penance of unparallel destiny.

I stared hard in the frightened darkness,
To catch the glimpse of might lord (Tenzin Gyatso)
Bless with lightening beam of smile, to ensure me the bright and secured future.
Under the glittering light of butter lamp,
Burning high on the chapel alter.
I can see the speaking tears,
And I can hear the murmuring prayers.

That my mother offering from within,
To curve the wavering karma.
And plough a new stoke of luck.
To the obscured vision of my path.

Blazing the heart of patriotism,
And thirsting for the lost freedom
My father with stoical motion of eyes,
Radiating great hopes for the silent prayer.

With melting heart of tears,
And bursting vein of blood.
I struggled hard to make my way,
To the place where my destiny lies.

Down the knees on the sandy border,
Made a bow for a solemn promise .
A promise to come up with man’s word,
A word to return the salt of kalasha!!

WAITING FOR YOU

The wind blow, leaves falls, feeling breezed.
Season changed drastically,
But I am standing where I am before.
Thinking when will you return?
Return from that far invisible horizon.
No one moved me,
I don’t know where you had gone?
But I am waiting for you.
Return to the hands of rightful owner ..elleh
Sun set and sun rise,
Snow falls and winter withdraw
But I am standing where I am before.
Thinking that you will return soon,
From that far invisible horizon.
When I waited for the endless days.
Breathing hard as if welcoming someone.
Some one from that far invisible horizon, it’s you sally.
Rainfall dripping, slowly wetting me more.
Feeling of coldness when standing in the middle of dark,
But I am still standing where I am before.
As I am thinking about your return.
Clothes torn by the aviates of your waiting.
Legs are shivering as I start to knee down.
But I am standing where I am before,
Thinking when you will return.
Return from that far invisible horizon.
Whom I waits today and forever.

I MISS YOU

From the birth till today,
I never felt such troubles.
Today I felt you are really great to me.
I can felt your love and care.

Till that years, I departed from you,
I never suffers such problems,
Today I can really felt your gratitude,
And your sincerity and dedicated work.

Departing from you,
Makes me more absurd,
And make me cry often
About your care and kindness towards me.

Did you hear my cry?
Did feel my suffers ?
I beg you not to let me alone ,
Like in this huge planet.

It is really hard to hide my pain.
I always try to hide it,
But it is really tough to hide,
It ‘s eventually blast out.

THE THING I PROMISE YOU
.
I wake up with fresh air,
Question arise in my mind.
The things that I promise you.
Did you forget that one ?

But I still keep it deep inside my heart.
Weather changes as season are changing,
And days and years rolled by,
But I still keep promise firmly

When I gone to sleep,
I stand up with promptly,
Holding my books firmly,
And remind myself that promise.

When I gossip with some of my friends,
I cease my communication and ignore it.
As that promise strikes me.
It is the promise that make me realize my action.

That is the promise that
Doesn’t let me waste my time.
And force me to study well.
It is the promise that I leave to my mom.

NO TEARS TO CRY.

Cry is something,
Something that we want to do.
When we feel glad ,
When we feel upset.

Cry is something ,
Something when we do ,
To express the inner feeling ,
Whether it is sad or happy.

Cry ,I cry thrice and many times.
Since the year of torturing ,
And the year of invasion of china
. And the day I flee .

Now it is enough ,
For me to mourn and cry.
I felt it ‘s minor weapon ,
To get your freedom back.

Cry , no more to cry,
For missing parents ,
It is pen and paper that is needed weapon,
For to get our freedom back very soon.
Dechen Tsomo.

WHERE ARE WE?
Before anyone doing anything,
You should have to think and rethink,
Where we are?
Why we are here in foreign land?
It is first and foremost question .

India is not Tibet .
We should return back to Tibet very soon.
But with knowledgeable Tibetan,
And good cultural back ground.
Where we should serve our government there.

We all know that ,
We are purely refugees,
Who are particularly interest in materialisms.
And can’t realize where we are standing?
And why we are here for so long ?

Even doesn’t realize ,
The risky situation of our leader.
Spending whole day roams over there and here.
So, remind you where we are standing?

TRIBUTE TO A SISTER

High up the hilltop.
I view a clouds racing.
Up on the hill lock,
I saw an ocean blowing.

As the sunset across the horizon.
Your beaming face embarks the love.
As the sunshine from the east,
I miss your warmth.

As the cool breeze swept on my face,
] I remember your generosity.
When I breathe the cool air from my nostril,
It reminds me of your care.

When I am a poor sick man,
You play the role of my doctor.
While I am a helpless bird with no wing,
You came to save me.

Sister,
You are my sun,
Who provide me the bright light.
You are my flower,
To give me the sweet fragrance.
Thank you what you have done to me.
