T.C.V. Gopalpurs’ performance in inter-school programmes

Inter Tibetan Schools Basketball tournament: The Tibetan National Sports Association (T.N.S.A.) organized inter-Tibetan schools basketball tournament, where six Tibetan schools, based in Kangra and Mandi district participated, with two boys and one girls’ open team from each school. While the early rounds of the tournament were played at T.C.V. Suja and T.C.V. Chauntra, all the finals were organized on the 24th April, in our school, as all our three teams had made to the finals. The open girls’ team made us proud by proving to be best players. Both the boys team did their best and came up as the 1st runners up. The overall winner was non other than our school. Hats off to the coaches and players.

Inter T.C.V. Football Tournament:
In the inter T.C.V. Football Tournament, T.C.V. schools took active part. There were one junior boys and one girls’ open team. The first rounds of junior boys and girls’ open team were played at Upper T.C.V. and Lower T.C.V., respectively. Both the finals were held here on the 9th of July, in our school football ground. Despite heavy rain and breeze, the players weren’t to deter from doing their best, while soccer fans gave their full support by cheering the teams. This time also both our teams had reached the finals. Our junior boys team won the final and the girls’ open team won the 1st runners up position.

Inter T.C.V. Tibetan Elocution Contest:
On the beautiful evening, the Sherab Woenang hall was adorned by the presence of guests of honour like Venerable Yutok Karma Gelek(secy. of edu.), Sir Ngawang Dorjee(T.C.V. education director), village directors of all the participating schools, our former headmaster Gen Choying la and many other distinguished guests. The 5 T.C.V. schools in H.P. took part in the contest. Karmo of our school came first in the poetry section, while we came third as a whole.
